It tells the tale of a death row prisoner who in his last minutes begins to see the electric chair that will bring about his end as the Throne of God himself. The song sees the prisoner attempting to tell God that he was innocent of his crimes, before finally caving in at the last minute just before he passes on for judgement. The song is a maelstrom of noise and thrashing as the Bad Seeds whip the atmosphere into a frenzy to represent the horror of the scene and the thoughts going through the prisoner's mind as he gets closer and closer to his final moment. A brilliant song, which is just as good when played acoustically too.
