10 Best Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Songs

3. 'Fifteen Feet Of Pure White Snow'- From No More Shall We Part

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sfhvxTZ0wo No More Shall We Part could easily be seen as the beginning of today's stage of the Bad Seed's career- with Blixa Bargeld and Mick Harvey beginning to take a less prominent role as Cave began to rely more and more on the soundscape artistry of Warren Ellis. This new direction can be seen in spades in 'Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow'. The song begins at a leisurely groove that still manages to unsettle as Cave begins to extol various tales about being caught in a snowstorm - but as the song continues it seems to take a darker turn. Some of the lyrics seem to point to the idea of drugs and paranoia ("Doctor, doctor I'm going mad/It's the worse feeling I've ever had/I can't remember ever feeling this bad/under fifteen feet of pure white snow). This feeling of incoming darkness is backed up by the music, which soon becomes builds up more and more until the end where the Bad Seeds crash and bash behind the band leader screaming "Save yourself!"
