10 Best Nu-Metal Albums Of The 00s

4. Limp Bizkit - Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavoured Water (2000)

It wouldn’t be a who’s who of nu-metal without the genre’s favourite son, Fred Durst, who is the epitome of all that is ‘nu’.

Having moved on from the snot-nosed almost anarchistic first album and made a name for themselves with Significant Other, their third album had high expectations. In all seriousness, this album is everyone’s guilty pleasure. From instant classics of My Generation, My Way and Rollin’ to the heavy hitting Full Nelson and curse-ladened Hot Dog, the album has something for every nu-metaller.

Every man and his dog went round with baggy jeans and a red cap to the back after listening to the album, showing just how significant the record was. Yes, the hip-hop element outweighed its own substance, Fred can’t really rap, and the album is literally named after the human anus, but just sit there and deny loving this album.

Sometimes the best albums are more than just music - it’s an attitude, it’s a culture, it’s a feeling it gives, and because of that, Chocolate Starfish was genuinely a game changer.
