10 Best Number One Rock Albums Of The 2010s

6. Wasting Light - Foo Fighters

Adele's second album, 21, spent eight separate stints at the top of the Billboard charts in 2011; a testament to the commercial power of nice young ladies singing very pleasant songs.

The album's third and fourth tenures atop the charts were split up by a single week where one of the biggest acts in modern rock claimed the spot instead. This was the Foo Fighters, with their seventh studio album, Wasting Light.

After 16 years as a recording artist, this was the Foos' first ever US number one, which is mad when you think about it. This was no fluke though, as Wasting Light might just be the strongest gathering of songs they've ever put out.

From the opening double whammy of Bridge Burning and Rope to stadium fillers like These Days and Walk to whatever the hell White Limo is, Wasting Light is full of excellent tracks and, sometimes, that's all an album needs to be to be great.

The band wouldn't return to the top of the charts until 2017's Concrete and Gold. Thankfully, there wasn't an Adele album this time to get in their way.
