10 Best One-Album Wonders In Rock Music History
1. Never Mind The B*llocks, Here's The Sex Pistols - The Sex Pistols
When it comes to one-album bands who made the most impact on culture, it's hard to talk about anyone other than the Sex Pistols.
Despite being one of the famous punk bands (and British bands of any genre) of all time, the group's initial run only lasted from 1975 to 1978.
In that time, they put out just one album - an album we won't spell out in full because sometimes kids read these lists.
Never Mind etc. etc. is iconic in every single way.
Its cover is iconic. Its title is iconic. Songs like Anarchy in the UK, God Save the Queen, Pretty Vacant? All iconic.
Against the best efforts of ever moral crusader in Britain, the album topped the UK charts and ended up becoming the 12th best-selling LP of the year.
Basically, the Sex Pistols were too chaotic to last. After a series of utterly deranged concerts in the US, the band went their separate ways. Sid Vicious died in 1979, putting an end to any chances of a second album.
To be honest, one society-busting shot of punk adrenaline was more than enough.
