10 Best One-Album Wonders In Rock Music History

2. Wheatus - Wheatus

Did you know that the song Teenage Dirtbag didn't actually chart that well in the US?

It only reached number 124, but was a top five hit in about a dozen other countries.

Naturally, the UK was one of them.

We really will buy anything, won't we?

It's thanks to merry old England (and Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland just for balance) that Wheatus have a platinum-selling album to their name.

Their self-titled debut, which was home to Teenage Dirtbag, went to number seven in the UK.

In the US? 76.

The British public were only good for one save as it turns out, as they've been thoroughly uninterested in everything else Wheatus have put out.

In fact, the band haven't had a single album chart anywhere since this one came out in the year 2000!

Their last single to chart, American in Amsterdam, was from 2003, meaning that Wheatus have had no impact on any chart in any way for over two decades.

And still, despite all this apparent failure, the band will always have a place in the hearts and minds of anyone who has heard their most famous song.

That's the power of music right there.
