10 Best One-Album Wonders In Rock Music History

9. The Good, The Bad & The Queen - The Good, The Bad & The Queen

Not a collaboration between Ennio Morricone and Freddy Mercury, The Good, The Bad & The Queen was a supergroup containing some huge names from the world of British indie.

Listening to one of their songs for five seconds will tell you that Damon Albarn is the singer. Backing up the former Blur frontman were Verve guitarist Simon Tong, Clash bassist Paul Simonon, and Nigerian drummer Tony Allen.

They put out their first album, which was self-titled, in 2007 and people seemed to like it.

It peaked at number two in the UK and even managed to crack the top 50 across the pond. Have Americans heard of Blur? Do they even know what Britpop is?

The group itself fell silent for over a decade, whilst various members played on each other's work. Then, in 2018, they released their much-anticipated sophomore album Merrie Land.

Did anybody buy it?

No!

Merrie Land didn't live up to any of its predecessor's expectations. It failed to even make the UK top 30 and sold far fewer units than the debut.

Clearly disheartened by this, the band disbanded forever in 2019.

Talk about sore losers.
