10 Best One-Album Wonders In Rock Music History

8. Do It Yourself - The Seahorses

The first of our single album releasers was born out of the ashes of another band with a very small discography.

The Stone Roses were an extremely popular British outfit that bafflingly only put out two albums during their time together. John Squire, the group's former guitarist, clearly still had the musical bug and set about putting together a new gang.

Squire's work led to the formation of The Seahorses, who put out their debut album in 1997. Steeped in the Roses' textbook Madchester sound, Do It Yourself was well-received by those who were convinced that Britpop would last forever and definitely wasn't a fad.

It reached second place in the UK albums charts, held off only by Gary Barlow of Take That fame. It also spawned three top 20 singles, one of which was co-written with Liam Gallagher.

A second album was planned, but the sessions were dominated by Squire's constant bickering with frontman Chris Helme.

One day, Squire walked out of the studio and never came back. That was that, and The Seahorses were done.

This guy really cannot keep a band down for long, can he?
