'HEY HO, LET'S GO!'. Four words that signalled the start of Punk as we know it. Three simple chords being smashed out on bass and guitar at high speed; it doesn't sound like much, but Blitzkrieg Bop is a phenomenal song that kicks down the door and destroys everything in its path.

Released in 1976, it was Ramones' debut single and the opening to their debut album. One of the most recognisable songs in music, it is the only way to start an album. It's loud, fun and explosive and basically said to the world 'WE'RE HERE!'

Punk became a world wide phenomenon in 1977, they year after Blitzkrieg Bop and the band's debut album was released. Ramones were at the start of the revolution, along with Television, Patti Smith, The Sex Pistols, The Damned and The Clash. The leaders of a new generation and Blitzkrieg Bop was the song that signalled the start of something completely different.
