10 Best Paramore Songs - Ranked
6. Last Hope - Paramore (2013)
As with After Laughter, Paramore’s self-titled record was a significant evolution for the band. It was still rooted in rock music, but the scope of the album was much grander than any of their previous material.
Despite the huge success of singles such as ‘Ain't It Fun’ and ‘Still Into You’, the standouts on Paramore’s fourth album are the lesser-known tracks.
‘Last Hope’ is a song that manages to balance sadness with a sense of anticipation, and despite the mournful opening line, it builds throughout to create one of Paramore’s most memorable hooks.
In contrast to the verses, the lyrics during both the choruses and the bridge offer an uplifting message that gives the song an anthemic feeling which is particularly striking during a live show.
As such, ‘Last Hope’ is a clear standout in the band's discography due to the power of its message and the simplicity of its instrumental.
