10 Best Paramore Songs - Ranked

The Twilight movies have an understandably negative reputation, but without them, Paramore might never have produced one of their best tracks.

Written predominately by Taylor York (who was in his late teens at the time), ‘Decode’ hooks in the listener at once with its melodic guitar riff and palm-muted chords.

Whilst the themes of the song do fit the Twilight storyline, the lyrics are not so specific that they prevent ‘Decode’ from being relatable. Indeed, with Williams’ powerhouse vocals, it’s impossible not to sing along during the chorus.

‘Decode’ also features a great close. Rather than simply ending after the third chorus, the song transitions into a crunching finale with plenty of angst and yet another memorable guitar pattern.

It’s no surprise Paramore chose to include ‘Decode’ as a bonus track on Brand New Eyes. With its unconventional guitar riffs and striking chorus, it’s easily one of the band’s most impressive compositions.
