10 Best Pop Punk Albums Of 2016

6. Descendents - Hypercaffium Spazzinate

If this was a list of the best pop punk album titles of the year, Hypercaffium Spazzinate would likely top it. Nevertheless, Hypercaffium Spazzinate (sorry, I just had to type it again) is a great release by American rockers the Descendents.

It comes twelve years after the release of their last record Cool To Be You, which dropped way back in 2004. The reason for the delay? Singer Milo Aukerman wanted to focus on teaching biology. After a decade of pursuing science, however, he became burned out with biochemistry and wanted to return to music full time.

The result is Hypercaffium Spazzinate, a record consisting of songs which cover a diverse range of topics, from ageing, needing to diet, recovering from illness and the usual love and relationships stuff.

Despite Milo's increasing age (he's approaching his mid-fifties), the music is as relevant as ever, and just as enjoyable to listen to.
