10 Best Pop Punk Albums Of 2016
3. A Day To Remember - Bad Vibrations
American rockers A Day To Remember have had a rough time of it in the last few years. In 2011 they pressed charges against their label, Victory, claiming that they'd breached contract and withheld royalties.
Conversely, Victory claimed the group wanted out of their record contract so they could sign with a bigger label. This resulted in the band self-releasing their 2013 album Common Courtesy through their own label, ADTR Records. After that, the group took an extended break.
In 2015 the band revealed they were casually working on new music. In 2016, they debuted Paranoia, a track heavier than much of the material found on Common Courtesy. This was followed by the announcement of Bad Vibrations.
Bad Vibrations doesn't push A Day To Remember into brave new territory, but it also doesn't need to. It's a further extension of the band's aggressive sound and a throwback to their earlier material like For Those Who Have Heart. It's been a while since the band has flirted with metalcore quite so openly, and the result is absolutely glorious.
