10 Best Pop-Punk Records

5. Take Off Your Pants And Jacket - Blink-182

By the start of the millennium, pop punk had been going strong for a good few years. While the initial pop-punk giants were still dominating the rock scene, Blink-182 was the band that poured gasoline on the pop-punk fire. Even though there may be bigger hits on the band's 1999 masterpiece Enema of the State, the band's 2001 offering Take Off Your Pants and Jacket presents everything special about pop-punk.

There are odes to teenage love like on "Online Songs" and "First Date" and rockers like the smash single "The Rock Show," but the true strength of this record is how well these songs define teen angst. From the opening teenage tirade of "Anthem Part Two" to the wistful youth nostalgia of "Reckless Abandon," Blink really knew how to deliver the kinds of songs any teenager could relate to. The album also gets extremely emotional on the heartbreaking divorce found on "Stay Together for the Kids."

Through line up changes and experimentation with other genres, Blink-182 have endured and are still going strong today. However, the heights that you get from records like this one are the kind that you get once every career and will stick with listeners throughout their lives.
