It's incredible how many awesome hip hop artists were influenced by Scarface that went on to sell millions of records, yet the man himself hasn't reached the same level of success. If this was about who made the most money then he wouldn't be near this list, but it's about the ability of the rapper and Scarface has ability in abundance.

An original member of the Geto Boys, Scarface broke off to do his own thing, releasing a slew of albums which had a significant impact on mafioso rap. If the west coast had 2pac and the east had The Notorious B.I.G, then the answer for those down south was Scarface.

Scarface managed to mixed his southern slang with storytelling rap and make it sound fresh. Alongside UGK, Outkast and Killer Mike, he showed hip hop fans that there are lyricists in the south and that they weren't just releasing party tracks with no substance.
