10 Best Rock Album Closers Ever

6. Champagne Supernova - (What's The Story) Morning Glory?

Standing out in an album that also features "Wonderwall", "Don't Look Back In Anger" and "Roll With It" might be a difficult feat. However, "Champagne Supernova" still manages to be one of the highlights of Oasis' legendary sophomore effort.

In one song, the band manages to display their flair for energetic and upbeat songs, as well as their aptitude for more relaxing, softer tracks. Although Noel Gallagher himself has confirmed that the lyrics, whilst sounding deep and meaningful, don't actually mean anything in particular, that doesn't stop this song from being as enjoyable as it is.

All of Oasis' influences and trademarks are present in "Champagne Supernova", from The Beatles' brand of psychedelia to Noel Gallagher's love for layers upon layers of distorted guitars. Whilst the song is on the lengthier side at seven-and-a-half minutes, its run time flies by without dragging at all.

Not only does the entire band bring their A-game to this track, but the surprise appearance of Paul Weller on guest lead guitar adds yet another layer to an already stellar track. Overall, "Champagne Supernova" provides a very on-brand conclusion to what is likely one of the best albums of the 1990s.
