10 Best Rock Music Album Closers Of The 1990s

4. Fear Of The Dark - Fear Of The Dark (Iron Maiden)

To call Iron Maiden a '90s band would amount to sacrilege, but then again, so would leaving off this outstanding final blast.

The band had a busy decade, putting out four studio albums in total, but only one of them topped the UK charts. That was Fear of the Dark from 1992, the final Maiden album to feature Bruce Dickinson on vocals for seven years.

Though it wasn't actually his swansong, if Bruce had bowed out on the final track on this album, that would have been just fine. The title track, Fear of the Dark is also the longest one on the album at over seven minutes. It earns every single one of those seconds, whisking listeners away on a journey to a place where your deepest dreads come true.

A multi-part musical structure allows every single member of the band to do what they do best. The singing, the guitars, the bassline, the drums, it's all on top form.

Though some may prefer the live version of Fear of the Dark from 1993, the original packs just as powerful a punch.
