10 Best Rock Music Album Covers Of The 2010s

4. Hardwired… To Self-Destruct - Metallica

Whilst Queens of the Stone Age decided to only have one member's face on their front cover, Metallica decided that all four participants should get that honour.

Only they did this in the weirdest way possible.

Eight years after 2008's Death Magnetic, the biggest metal band in the world roared back into life with Hardwired... to Self-Destruct. This double album continued the band's return to a more thrash style, winning over fans both old and new with its hard-hitting content.

Well, it certainly did for the ones who weren't put off by the absolute nightmare fuel on the front cover.

Designed by Turner Duckworth (great name), the front cover for Hardwired features an image of all four members of Metallica superimposed over the top of each other.

It's like they all went through the machine in The Fly at the same time.

Hardwired's front cover would be enough to make a small child cry, but that's what's so good about it. It had been a while since Metallica presented fans with something truly demented and there were plenty of people thrilled to see such a wicked picture grace this cover.
