10 Best Rock Music Album Covers Of The 2020s So Far

7. Fear Of The Dawn - Jack White

Just because The White Stripes haven't released an album since 2007, that doesn't mean that frontman Jack White hasn't been a busy boy.

He's recorded several albums with his side projects The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs, as well as five solo efforts. He put two out in 2022, but the one with the best album cover was April's Fear of the Dawn.

In typical White fashion, the album is a whirring collection of fuzzy guitar tracks, samples of beat poets, and interpolations of classic jazz. It's another solid entry from the modern day troubadour, who's yet to really miss since going it alone.

The cover for Fear of the Dawn was illustrated by artist Jennifer Dionisio. It depicts a stylised version of the musician standing in front of his car whilst the moon lights up the night sky. Around him are several broken pieces of wood, as if he's driven the car straight through a barn.

Dionisio does a great job in creating a foreboding atmosphere with this image, capturing that sense of intrigue that is essential to White's image. Hopefully whoever owned that barn was compensated handsomely for their losses.
