10 Best Rock Music Album Covers Of The 2020s So Far

4. Mammoth WVH - Mammoth WVH

Talent doesn't always run in families, as cruel as that is, but some kids of famous people get all the luck.

Wolfgang Van Halen (because of course Eddie Van Halen would name his kid Wolfgang) actually joined his father's band in 2006, when he was just 15 years old. His natural abilities were honed by constant performing over the next decade or so, which eventually led to him going solo.

As Mammoth WVH, Wolfgang put out his self-titled debut in June 2021 and people were very happy with it. The lead single Distance, written in tribute to Wolfgang's recently departed father, was even nominated for a Grammy.

What should have picked up an award was the album's artwork, which is utterly bonkers in the best possible way. It depicts a giant crab stalking a parking lot, holding a sports car in one of its claws. All this whilst a guy in a suit just stands there in the foreground.

Painter John Brosio created the image, which Wolfgang stated was simply about being "big". Whatever the reason, this cover is completely wonderful and helps continue the mad spirit that made Eddie and chums stars in the first place.
