10 Best Rock Music Album Covers Of The 2020s So Far

5. Frampton Forgets The Words - Peter Frampton

In 1976, English rock musician Peter Frampton released one of the greatest live albums of all time. Frampton Comes Alive! is still held up as the live rock record, with its version of Show Me the Way becoming even more popular than the original.

45 years later, in April 2021, Frampton invoked that album's famous name for a collection of instrumental covers of some of his favourite songs.

Frampton Forgets the Words contains versions of Lenny Kravitz's Are You Gonna Go My Way, George Harrison's Isn't It a Pity, and other songs that aren't also posed as questions.

The cover image fits perfectly with the album's name; it's a typewriter with a blank piece of paper sticking out of it. He really did forget the words.

The machine also seems to be sat in the middle of a desert, under a clear blue sky. This juxtaposition just makes the whole thing even more wonderfully strange to look at, as the item and setting clash beautifully.

Also, as a final finishing touch, the typewriter also has guitar tuners on it and is seemingly plugged into an amp. Brilliant.
