10 Best Rock Music Videos Of The 2010s

4. Lonely Boy - The Black Keys

Sometimes a great music video is an intricately-shot, well thought out artistic endeavour designed to get an audience thinking.

Sometimes, it's a single static shot of a guy dancing.

Isn't that beautiful?

Neo-blues outfit The Black Keys started making a worldwide name for themselves in the 2010s with albums like Brothers, El Camino, and Turn Blue.

Lonely Boy served as the lead single for El Camino and the band were going all out to make it special. Wait, no. The opposite.

They did the opposite.

As hinted at previously, the video for Lonely Boy is one unmoving camera shot of a guy dancing to the song. No special effects, no editing, no nothing. It's just the guy dancing.

It turns out that the original video was meant to be much more elaborate, but extra Derrick T. Tuggle (what a name) impressed the band so much with his improvised routine that they decided to just make him the entire thing.

The result is a video that has been seen 149 million times at time of writing and has become one of the most memorable and hilarious promotional shots of the last twenty years.

God bless you, Mr. Tuggle.
