10 Best Rock Music Videos Of The 2010s

3. The Devil In I - Slipknot

Back to more high concept videos here and we've already talked a little about the idea of rebirth in our Fall Out Boy entry.

In 2014, Slipknot took this idea and applied their own twisted logic to it for their song The Devil in I.

The song was from their album .5: The Gray Chapter, the band's first since the untimely death of their original bass player Paul Gray. Many wondered if Slipknot would ever return after this tragedy, but they did come back and came back in style.

The Devil in I is set in some sort of asylum with the various members of the band as the patients. Although, this facility probably won't pass any sort of checks, as they're all killed off in various gruesome ways.

They get stabbed, blown up, attacked by a dog. One of them is pecked to death by crows.

All of this was done to reveal new masks for the band, implying that a new era for Slipknot had begun.

It's hardly a video to gather the family around, but as a piece of viscerally stunning art, you can't really do much better.
