10 Best Rock Songs Of The 2020s (So Far)

Okay, so this is not what you were expecting. But after the last year does anything still suprise you?

Former YouTuber and internet meme sensation, Joji, surprised everyone when he started dropping lo-fi trap and R&B back in the mid 2010s.

Before that, however, under the aliases of Filthy Frank and Pink Guy, this guy made crude prank videos and weird subversive comedy skits. Most notably, he was responsible for creating the viral sensation known as the Harlem Shake.

This was the last guy you'd expect to blow up as a musician.

In 2020 he surprised people again with his single, Run. The blending of lo-fi chill step with a classic rock ballad format, wasn't something we thought we needed, but we were wrong. The track was a hauntingly atmospheric number which utilised the classic rock guitar solo, a trend which until this, had become somewhat stale.

Although there's nothing like a hard rock riff to make you miss the old days, it's refreshing to hear rock tropes incorporated into other genres (when done like this). If rock music is to endure, then it must evolve, and this guy should be part of the process.
