10 Best Twenty One Pilots Songs

5. Chlorine – Trench (2018)

Though ‘Chlorine’ was one of the last singles to be released from Trench, it’s now become the most popular song on the album.

‘Chlorine’ doesn’t have the immediate punch of many of the singles on Blurryface or Vessel, but this certainly isn’t a bad thing. Joseph delivers a more subdued, lowkey vocal line punctuated by the occasional use of falsetto during the verses. As for the chorus, the high-end piano notes give the song a certain chill that creates a unique atmosphere.

Yet the best part of 'Chlorine' is the ending. The tempo slows down considerably and the song becomes much more spacious. This section makes the listener feel like they’re falling into a dream, and the additional strings alongside Dun’s echoing drums add to this tone still further.

Annoyingly, the radio version of this song misses out this terrific finale. So if you haven’t heard the full version of ‘Chlorine’, do yourself a favour and give it a listen.
