10 Best Two-Album Wonders In Rock Music History

6. Hole

Though she's mostly known these days as the slightly scary ex-wife of Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love was the frontwoman of alternative rock unit Hole.

Their first album, 1991's Pretty on the Inside, came and went without much fanfare. However, things changed forever with the release of 1994's Live Through This.

The album took the band's rough aesthetic and tidied it up a bit, making their music much more consumable to a wider fanbase. This worked a treat, as the record sold 1.6 million copies at home in the US, qualifying it for platinum status.

Four years later, Hole were back at it again with the album Celebrity Skin. As well as hosting their most popular and well-known song, Celebrity Skin also sold by the bucketful, bringing home another platinum disc for Love and co.

After disbanding for numerous reasons in 1999, Hole roared back into life in 2011 with a comeback album called Nobody's Daughter. How did it do? Well, this is a two-album wonders list, so you figure it out.

Nobody's Daughter charted well enough, but failed to capture the public's imagination in the same way the band had done in the past.
