10 Best William DuVall Era Alice In Chains Songs

9. Never Fade

Never Fade marks a departure from the sound of the new Alice in Chains. The Rainier Fog track harkens back to the bands roots, resembling the stylings of Facelift.

This song is all about missing loved ones. DuVall found inspiration for this track after the passing of his grandmother and Chris Cornell. The music is unapologetically upbeat in stark contrast to the lyrical content. The rhythm of the song is driving and sure to induce fist-pumping. William DuVall takes on lead vocal duties for most of the song, with Jerry Cantrell interjecting carrying the song forward throughout the chorus.

Never Fade stands out in the modern Alice in Chains catalogue due to it's David Bowie-inspired swagger. This is far removed from their usual doom and gloom and is all the more memorable for it.
