10 Best William DuVall Era Alice In Chains Songs

8. The One You Know

The One You Know is the lead single from the bands most recent album Rainier Fog. Alice in Chains have rarely sounded so confident in their craft as they do here.

Jerry Cantrell takes on the lead vocals for this song, singing about how appearances can be deceiving. Everything you would want and expect from the band is present. The guitar is heavy, layered, and played in a staccato style. Each strike of the guitar strings feels purposeful and deliberate with no wasted motion. Complimenting the stringed instruments are the pounding drums which march the song forward with conviction.

This song is a perfect representation of where Alice in Chains are at as a group right now. It encapsulates all the trappings of their modern incarnation; heavy, rhythmic, and impactful.
