10 Biggest Album Disasters Of All Time

3. America - 30 Seconds to Mars

30 Seconds to Mars have always been ones to lay the keyboards on pretty thick on every one of their albums. Ever since A Beautiful Lie, it wasn't out of the question to hear something vast and atmospheric coming from Jared Leto's warped version of space rock. Though the songs still held up fairly well, the same could not be said going into the process for America.

Compared to their earlier work, this is one of the most lackluster excuses for a rock album ever conceived in the past 5 years, as Leto does everything he can to make himself look cool for the times. As far as production goes, this is Trendhopping 101, as Leto brings in atmospheric soundscapes that sound a lot closer to Imagine Dragons than what they were known for with From Yesterday and The Kill.

Even Leto's creative direction seems to come up short on this one, as he kicked out most of the other members of the band and has pretty much settled on a computer-processed voice rather than the bombastic scream that made you feel something back in the late '00s. For as much as synthetics and 30 Seconds to Mars go hand in hand at the best of times, this is what happens when you get so high on your own ego that you forget how to actually write decent songs.
