10 Biggest Earworms Of All Time
8. I Love You Always Forever - Donna Lewis
The idea of someone like Donna Lewis pumping out an earworm worthy song sounds silly at the outset. After all, looking at the person in this video pretty much guarantees that you'll be in for the mellowest of mellow rock that belongs in the nearest Barnes and Noble bargain bin. You'd be correct on that assessment too...and then the actual song starts.
Although the original song starts off cutesy enough, the main hook line is so insistent that you pretty much know all of the words after hearing for it the first time. Though the lyrics themselves aren't anything that special or anything, the way that the melody cascades over different notes just makes for one of the most serene jams ever created, almost like you're being lulled into a deep sleep. Hell, it's almost like it's trying to sound as primitive as possible, with Lewis' delivery sounding closer to a nursery rhyme than a legitimate song.
And yet, there's something about this song that keeps running through your memory no matter what you do to try and stop it. In a way, it's deceptively catchy, as if you've been tricked into humming this melody by accident when you're in the car, cooking dinner, or just sitting at your day job. Then again, it's always the quiet ones that you have to worry about, right?
