10 Biggest Hard Rock & Metal Gigs Of All Time

8. Muse At Rome Olympic Stadium - 2013

Muse are one of the few saving graces in the world of hard rock these days. In an era when rock has faded from view on the charts, this power trio's blend of hard rock grooves and fantastic melodies have given them a few hits when most hard rock bands can't get arrested. The band have gone through many fantastic tours during their tenure, but the stage show wasn't in full form until they reached the Rome Olympic in 2013.

Granted, this show may not contain every single Muse classic in its setlist, but this one gig is where they really came into their own as performers. As the band tear through songs like "Plug In Baby" and "Uprising," you can practically feel the audience in the stadium as they shake the floor of the arena in a controlled fury.

This gig also featured the band's deep cuts like "Guiding Light," whose Queen sense of musical theatrics seemed tailor-made to be played in a stadium of this size. Perfectly balancing the synthetic with hard rock, Muse left Rome in absolute shambles and have only gone up since, continuing to blaze the trail for hard rock in the 2010's.
