10 Biggest Hard Rock & Metal Gigs Of All Time
2. Foo Fighters At Wembley - 2008
It's a question that every band ponders but can only hope to touch. While every arena performance is special, the idea of being among the all-time greats seems like a passing fantasy. However, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters were offered the dubious honor at the end of the 2000's: you wanna play Wembley Stadium?
Arriving in the same place where Queen perfected the rock show, the Foo Fighters manage to blow the audience away with some of the most powerful hard rock music they have played in their career. Throughout the entire performance, Grohl is nonstop energy, as he brings his natural charisma that makes you feel like you're watching another one the guys raising hell on the microphone. Even if the band's music isn't necessarily your cup of tea, it's virtually impossible not to get hyped once the initial heaviness of "The Pretender" starts and Grohl gets the Earth moving.
Playing for 2 hours, the band even offer some surprises by bringing in Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones to play as they perform renditions of "Rock and Roll" and "Ramble On." By the time the band tears through their final song with "Best of You," you realize that these young players in the rock world have become gods of the genre within the span of a few hours.
