10 Biggest 'Sellout' Albums In Rock

9. Enema Of The State - Blink-182 (1992)

Pop punk is littered with once highly respected acts, who turned their backs on the underground. Blink-182 are a prime example. The buzz around the group's enthusiastic on stage charisma, brought them a degree of recognition and respect. Their early music was the kind of indie-punk that turned up on independent skate videos. It was the sort of music only the most tuned in kids would know about.

The move from an independent to a major label, signalled reputation suicide for the band, however. Enema Of The State, skyrocket Blink to international stardom, selling millions of copies worldwide. This kind of success reeked of selling out to members of the underground community. The music was punchy and easily digestible pop rock for the masses. Every other song made reference to some kind of ant-authority attitude, but in the most vague and surface level way - it was the kind of rebellious sentiment every misguided teenager feels.

We've all sang along to these tracks at one point or another, and who can blame us, it's harmless, inoffensive fun, but there isn't much substance to it.
