10 Biggest Unsolved Mysteries In Rock Music History
1. Paul is Dead?
There’s probably no other band in the history of rock and roll that can measure up to the chemistry of the Beatles. Even though each of the Fab Four were more than capable musicians on their own as solo artists, there’s some sixth sense that happens with the band’s music whenever you hear it in practice, as John Paul George and Ringo work in absolute sync with each other. If you have that kind of chemistry once, it’s amazing if they managed to do it twice once one of them supposedly died.
Though this has gone down as one of the biggest urban legends in pop culture history, there are some people that are still wondering if the original Paul McCartney passed away halfway through the Beatles’ tenure. As the theory goes, Paul was actually killed in a car accident in the ‘60s and replaced with a lookalike for the remaining years of the band, as “evidenced” by his noticeable vocal change in the Beatles’ later years.
Others claim that there are also clues hidden amongst Beatles songs and album covers, like Paul being the only one out of step with the rest of the band on the cover to Abbey Road and the outro of Strawberry Fields Forever that allegedly translates to John Lennon saying “I Buried Paul” if you play the song backwards. Then again, the man himself has had a sense of humor about it also, even calling one of his live albums Paul is Live to poke fun at the rumor. If the rumors that have been going around are true though, this supposed doppelganger is still responsible for some of the best music the Beatles ever made.
