10 Biggest WTF Moments In 2000s Rock

5. Blinded By A Lollipop

There were plenty of memorable things about David Bowie, but one of his more striking visual features was his left eye.

The Starman appeared to have two different coloured irises, after a punch to the face from a school friend in 1962 left him with a permanent injury. Over forty years later, Bowie's eye would once again by the target of an attack.

Only this one didn't take place during a fight over a girl.

Bowie was playing on stage in Oslo, Norway when somebody thought it would be a good idea to throw a lollipop at the Life on Mars? singer. With what must have been a one-in-a-million chance, the audience member hurled the sweet treat and managed to hit the performer right in his peeper.

Not only did this force Bowie to stop the show, but it also left him temporarily blind in that eye. Thank God it was the one that got punched.

Reports differ on how long the concert was stopped for (or what expletives Bowie called the offender), but this remains one of the strangest reasons for a stoppage in all of rock history.

It could only have happened to Bowie.
