10 Biggest WTF Moments In 2000s Rock

4. Commerford’s Climb

We touched on Rage Against the Machine and their antics in the previous iteration of this list, only this time they weren't getting their dingles out in front of thousands of people.

This incident did go down on live TV though, so make up your own mind on which is worse.

The 2000 edition of MTV Video Music Awards took place on September 7th and it was a star-studded night. In the category for Best Rock Video, you had the likes of Kid Rock, Creed, Korn, and the two bands we'll be focussing on, Limp Bizkit and Rage Against the Machine.

Bizkit picked up the win for their Break Stuff video, beating out Rage's Sleep Now in the Fire amongst others. Rage bassist Tim Commerford clearly didn't take kindly to this, so decided to stage a protest.

He somehow managed to climb up onto part of the set, clinging to what seems to be the top of the Statue of Liberty's head. This intrusion brought the show to a standstill for several minutes, as security attempted to retrieve Commerford like he was a cat stuck in a tree.

He was arrested and spent the night in jail, which is fair enough.
