10 Biggest WTF Moments In 2010s Rock

1. Lulu

In 2009, Metallica and Lou Reed both played on the bill as part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th Anniversary Concert. This set in motion the chain of events that would lead to one of the strangest, most unlistenable collaborations in the history of the genre.

After recording together throughout the summer of 2011, the two musical institutions released Lulu in October. From the moment fans caught a glimpse of the dismembered mannequin doll on the front cover, they knew they were in for a weird time.

Over the course of 87 minutes, Reed spouted line after line of incomprehensible (and sometimes offensive) babble whilst Hetfield and co. chugged out rhythmless metal chords in the background.

Only one song on this utterly nutty record could be labelled as tuneful, with the rest left to gnaw away at your brain like a beaver that took too many psychoactives in the '60s.

Whilst there are some people out there who will defend it, Lulu is widely considered one of the worst albums ever made and is definitely one of the strangest things either act has ever done. And that's saying something when you're talking about Lou Reed.
