10 Biggest WTF Moments In '80s Rock Music

The '80s was a wild time, man. You just had to be there...

The 1980s was a time of big hair, big jewellery, and big emphasis on upwards social mobility through the accrual of financial wealth.

But that's enough about the politics - let's chat music.

Music was having a hell of a time in the 80s, especially when it came to the world of rock.

Hair metal was taking over the world, thrash was ripping up the underground, and the beginnings of what would become grunge and indie were bubbling away under the current. But it wasn't smooth sailing for the genre. In fact, it was anything but.

Rock music was dogged with controversy throughout the 1980s, as these ten absolutely insane moments clearly demonstrate.

Whether it was the tragic deaths of performers, various legal wranglings, onstage fights, or just rockstars being rockstars, there were plenty of wild headlines flying around at the time, and we've done our best to round up some of the best for your entertainment.

Be warned - some of these entries will get quite sad and discuss topics like drug taking, suicide, death in general, and a whole bunch of other unpleasantries.

Reader discretion is advised.

10. The Spaghetti Incident

Sadly, we're not discussing the 1993 Guns N' Roses album here.

That would be far more pleasant.

Instead, we're talking about the alleged real life incident that supposedly inspired that name.

Motley Crue had a reputation in the 1980s as one of the hardest partying bands in the world. Their offstage exploits are the stuff of legend, as well as being gross enough to put you off the entire concept of music for the rest of your life.

Members Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee once supposedly had a wager to see who could go the longest without showering. This is disgusting, especially when you consider that they were still intent on banging as many groupies as possible during this period.

This led to the infamous night when a young lady was *ahem* kneeling at Sixx's altar (wink wink) when she ended up vomiting her pasta dinner all over his... feet.

His feet.

A lot of old school rock antics could be described as grim, but this really takes the biscuit.

The only reason this isn't higher up the list is because we can't confirm if it actually happened and, quite frankly, we don't want to.
