2. Ozzy Bites The Bat
In terms of mental rockstar moments, the 80s belonged to Ozzy and we couldn't do this list without mentioning his most revered moment of onstage madness.
During one of his concerts on January 20th 1982, somebody thought it would be a good idea to chuck a live bat at the singer whilst he was performing.
Imagine trying to smuggle a living creature into a venue today. They don't even let you take water in!
Ozzy somehow caught the poor beast and, thinking it was made of rubber, decided to take a big bite out of it. Unfortunately, the bat was very real and Ozzy ended up ripping it's head off.
The bat-biting incident has become a thing of myth and legend, with so many conflicting stories circulating about what actually happened. Some claim the bat was already dead when Ozzy bit it, some say that the bat bit Ozzy back, whilst some deny that the whole thing ever happened.
The Black Sabbath frontman actually had form when it came to this sort of thing, as he'd also bitten the head off a dove in 1981.
Note to self - never let Ozzy Osbourne look after your pets.
