10 Bizarre Songs Which Prove That The 1950s Were Crazier Than You Think
7. John And Jackie – Little Girl
The phrase 'women's orgasms in music' generally brings to mind Serge Gainsbourg's notorious 1969 single, Je T'Aime, for which Jane Birkin provided the 'ambient noise'. That may have been all well and good during the swinging sixties but, over a decade earlier, we were in a time where Elvis Presley was still being admonished for daring to move his legs on-stage.
It's hard to believe, then, that anything considered blatantly risqué in the slightest would have made it onto the airwaves. Check out this craziness, however, from the late fifties and let your jaw drop as Jackie’s voice, and, presumably, other parts, reach a stirring crescendo.
The song was written by Gene Maltais, a rockabilly legend, but who were John and Jackie? We just don’t know. How did they get away with it? We can only speculate that the record never gained enough exposure to bring it to the attention of the relevant authorities.
