10 Bizarrely Specific Music Genres You Won't Believe Actually Exist

9. Chap Hop

The "Chappist" revolution is one we certainly can't object to. "Chappism" proposes a return to the more dandified way of life: dressing with utmost panache, drinking fine beverages and behaving with absolute courtesy. Delightful, don't you think? Then you throw the gentlemen into the ghetto, and something completely unexpected happens. Chap hop.

Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer is one of the pioneers of this quintessentially British genre: he rhymes about aristocracy, pipe smoking and sherry, while charmingly strumming a banjolele. His best known track is probably "Straight Out Of Surrey", a chap version of N.W.A's "Straight Outta Compton", reworked with Received Pronunciation and professing his knowledge on cricket. All hail the Chap!
