10 Bizarrely Specific Music Genres You Won't Believe Actually Exist

10. Nintendocore

In Soviet Russia, Tetris play you! Otherwise know as Chiptune or Bitpop, this magical genre mixes rock and heavy metal with the nostalgic sounds of arcade games, as well as the instantly recognisable chiptunes of Nintendo and Gameboy. It began in the late 1990s, initially coined "Nintendocore" as a joke by metalcore group "Horse The Band".

8-bit sounds and synthesizers combined with electric guitars and heavy drums fabulously capture the excitement of old-school gaming, which is what makes this variation of Nerdcore (we're honestly not making this up) so engrossing. You listen to Powerglove and just try to control your feet. See, it's impossible.
