10 Blatantly Unfinished Albums (That Were Released Anyway)

5. Kanye West - The Life Of Pablo

While there are some undeniably excellent songs on Kanye's most ambitious project since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy ("30 Hours", "No More Parties in LA"), others feel incomplete, with "Freestyle 4" feeling like a first draft slapped onto the track listing for the hell of it, and ""Siiiiiiiiilver Surffffeeeeer Intermission" being as unnecessary as its extraneous stylistic spelling suggests, a misplaced callback to the skits on West's early albums on a record which seems to be all about experimentation and leaving Kanye's musical past behind.

A number of songs here went through many different iterations before the album's eventual release, with the original version of "Facts" somehow feeling more fleshed out than the Charlie Heat cut that made it onto The Life Of Pablo.

Even Kanye must have realised that The Life Of Pablo was unfinished, as the artist continued to tweak the record after its release, declaring it a "living breathing changing creative expression". As well as some lyrical changes and minor changes to mixing, the most notable modification was the addition of another unnecessary interlude, "Frank's Track" (which first appeared at the tale end of "Wolves" and really should have been cut entirely) and a whole new song, "Saint Pablo".
