10 Blatantly Unfinished Rock Albums (That Were Released Anyway)

7. Night People - You Me At Six

When putting together an album, it's sometimes hard to get every member on the same page. Since you have to be thinking music 24/7, you oftentimes find yourselves getting burnt out on the very thing that you loved in the first place. Everyone needs a break, and the guys from You Me At Six found that break by going as far left of the dial as they dared.

After their album Cavalier Youth sent them on a tour for a year and a half, the band returned to the studio for Night People absolutely exhausted. Although they did have a slew of ideas swirling around from genres like UK grime and soul music, the final mix of the album reads like they had a few good sketches and not as many flesh out songs.

The tracks can sometimes feel less like songs and more jam sessions, which ends up shifting wildly depending on which track you're listening to. While the core components of You Me At Six are still there, you also get songs that sound like their take on Arctic Monkeys right alongside a more freeflowing vocal style from Josh Franceschi. Still a good record all around, but definitely a change of pace from the kind of production style we were used to.
