10 Breakout Indie-Rock Stars Of 2019's Summer Festival Season

8. The Night Café

As their name might suggest, Liverpudlian outfit The Night Café are essentially chilled indie through and through. Slowly building up their sound for a few years now, it was late this summer that saw the release of their debut album 0151, coming out of nowhere to cement them their place on this list.

In 0151, they are able to maintain an easy listen throughout, blending old favourites (some stretching as far back as 2015) with new unreleased tracks. The most impressive part of the LP is how perfectly they all flow; from upbeat tunes like Addicted to heavier ones such as I'm Fine, as well as the more melancholy Endless Lovers and Mixed Signals .

Opening for fellow Merseyside bands Circa Waves and The Wombats earlier this year, they then had an opportunity to tease 0151 with memorable sets at Community and Reading & Leeds Festivals, planting their flag on the indie scene.

While unfortunately they are having to take a break for the rest of the year due to health reasons (also wishing a speedy recovery from here), they're poised to bounce back better than ever with their 2020 UK headline tour.
