10 Brilliant Cover Versions Of Classic Songs

6. Rufio - Like A Prayer

Originally recorded by: Madonna

It might not seem terribly surprising that a band named after a character from a nineties movie would cover a popular song by one of the biggest artists of that era.

Rufio’s take on Like A Prayer is surprisingly good though, and succeeds by replacing the spooky choirs and bouncy bass synth of the original with a rumbling bass intro, strained pop punk vocals, clattering drums and spiky, screeching guitars.

If you were a serious fan of the original then Rufio's take could come across as blasphemy of the highest order, but fans of early noughties, post-hardcore infused punk rock will lap it up.
