10 Brilliant Cover Versions Of Classic Songs

7. Richard Cheese - Down With The Sickness

Originally recorded by: Disturbed

A lounge jazz version of a Disturbed song? This should not work. It just should not work. In case you don't know, Disturbed are an over the top, hard rocking, metal band. They're known for prominent chin piercings, massive soaring choruses, and bizarre animalistic vocal barks. So, when Richard Cheese took one of their heaviest songs and turned it into a joyous lounge piece, jaws could be heard hitting floors worldwide.

Driving drums and pummeling guitars give way to twinkling pianos, those weird vocal barks become soothing scat singing and the whole thing becomes a very, very different beast. Despite the more upbeat aesthetic, the lyrics are just as unsettling when delivered in such a jovial way.

Come on, get down with the sickness.
