In 2008, a truly bizarre plot to murder singer and actress Miley Cyrus was uncovered by the FBI. A teenager obsessed with the singer had planned to hijack a passenger plane and then fly it into a Miley Cyrus concert taking place in Louisiana.
The plot was discovered after the teen was arrested having attempted to smuggle rope, tape and handcuffs onto a plane. Originally downplayed by the FBI, they later admitted to the press that the threat was considered legitimate seeing as the teen fully intended to carry out the plan.
