10 Cheesiest Songs Of The 80s

10. Hello - Lionel Ritchie (1984)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_ILDFp5DGA I've been alone with you Inside my mind And in my dreams I've kissed your lips A thousand times One of my favourite songs on the list, Hello by Lionel Ritchie is definitely the cheesiest love song the 80s produced. Widely regarded as Lionel's signature tune, the song enjoyed great success all over the world - topping the British charts and the Billboard charts in the States. Its success was helped along by an über cheesy video in which Lionel has a thing for a blind woman and he moons around after her singing "Hello! Is it me you're looking for?" This seems a tad inappropriate to sing to a blind person. In the video Lionel's love interest makes a bust of his head "This is how I see you" and to be fair it isn't a bad model of our Lionel. The video is so fantastically cheesy, it never fails to cheer me up and make me giggle over its earnestness. Lionel produced some fantastic cheese in the 80s (Dancing on the Ceiling, All Night Long) but Hello remains his crowning achievement.
