10 Classic Albums With Glaring Errors

6. What's The Story Morning Glory? - Oasis

In the ‘90s, there was no getting around Oasis’ meteoric rise. Starting with their first single “Supersonic,” these lads from Manchester were the darlings of the Britpop movement, with Definitely Maybe going down in history as one of the greatest debuts ever made. Though What’s the Story Morning Glory can stand on the shoulders of its predecessor, it wasn’t as pristine as you would expect from a bunch of rich rock stars.

Venturing into the countryside to the same studio where Queen made “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the Gallagher Brothers always aimed to serve the songs that they were composing. While making the best of the material is admirable, there are a few moments where the album feels a bit scattered, with two non-song tracks that feature snippets of their favorite instrumental jam “The Swamp Song.”

Even on their biggest hit “Wonderwall,” you can hear the track end with Noel noodling on guitar, where he proceeds to play the guitar riff for “Supersonic” before the tape cuts off.

It may seem a bit rough considering the band’s pedigree, but the mood that it captures is just right, with the entire album feeling like an impromptu jam session by one of the greatest bands in the world. Some may consider it to be a bit blown-out, but good rock and roll has always been a bit of a hard-edged listen.
